It’s official
Summer is here! There is something so special and nostalgic about the beginning of summer...the longer days, the warm breeze and sunshine, that care-free feeling, that ice cream cone...

Celebrate!
Canada just had a birthday, school is out, the weather is gorgeous, and everyone’s spirits seem to be lifted. With beaches, parks, restaurants, and community centres opened up, so many possibilities are ahead of us, and just in time.

Don’t trail behind
Check out the Waterfront Trail along Lake Ontario. A great place to ride bikes, or stroll hand in hand and enjoy the view. Bring a picnic and eat near the waters edge, or find a nice shady spot in one of the many parks along the water. Are you an early bird? Catch the sunrise.
Let’s staycation
Since travel is a challenge these days, why not plan a staycation? Take some time off work and household chores. Sleep in, take long lunches, enjoy your backyard and community. Treat the time as you would a vacation, unplug and unwind.

Jot it down
Create a Summer Fun journal, and let everyone in the family contribute. Draw, colour, write about things you have enjoyed so far, and things you want to enjoy together. Then, in the winter when the snow flies, pull it out and relive the memories.
Rosé all day
If you have a pool, enjoy it! Fire up the grill, turn up the music, and jump in. If you are retiring some old pool toys, consider donating them, and investing in some good quality toys and games from a local pool company. Don’t forget the rosé!

Make a splash
Don’t have a pool? Blow up a kiddie pool and beat the heat your own way, or rent one and ‘escape locally’. Swimply.com is a website where you can book a local private pool for the day.
Make the most of it
Let’s face it, summer is short...make memories, make popsicles, make it fun!
