Loving Outdoor Living

Get outside

The sun is shining, the air is warm, and we have been stuck inside for what feels like forever...it is time to get out there!

Enjoy your space

Whether it is small or large, grass or turf, porch or balcony - enjoy it! Read the paper, eat your lunch, have a glass of wine. You don’t even need furniture, just grab a blanket or a beach towel and sprawl out.

Get moving

With so many options to stream fitness classes, it is easy to work out at home. Why not bring your laptop and exercise mat outside for a change of scenery?

Eat al fresco

Whether it’s peanut butter sandwiches or a 5 course meal, enjoy it outside. No table? No problem...call it a picnic! Or, plan an outdoor “date night” and make it special with your favourite food and music. Light the good candles, pop some bubbly.

Send the kids to camp

Set up a tent with sleeping bags in the backyard. You can roast marshmallows in the BBQ, and play board games. If it is a clear night, you might see stars!

Let it grow

Planting a flower or vegetable garden can be a great way to spend time outside as a family. If you don’t have a green thumb (like me!), try a small herb garden. Herbs can be grown in pots and you can use them in salads, eggs, sauces...

Socialize (distantly)

I don’t know about you, but I miss being social. With the nicer weather it has been pretty easy to set up a little visit with friends outside, at a safe distance. I bet both parties will agree it feels good to catch up!

Good vibes

There is something about being outside in the sunshine and fresh air that just makes you feel good. It boosts your mood, improves concentration, and brings all the good vibes. Summer might look different this year, but with a little creativity you can make the most of it.
